Magnus Strom designed the The Watson House whilst he was still a Director at John Pardey Architects, another local practice. The main house was completed in 2010, and now the clients have decided that they want to update the annexe and garage, and bring them in-line with the contemporary nature of the house. The existing buildings are currently in a state of disrepair, and are not fit for purpose.
Our proposals would move the garage to a more accessible location, towards the front of the site, whilst the annexe would remain to the north of the site, but with a more contemporary aesthetic. As the site sits within the National Park and has various ecological issues, we are liaising with planners and consultants to ensure that our proposals meet the requirements of the site. As such, planning submission will have to wait until the start of the Summer, to allow time for ecological surveys to be carried out.
