Studland House

Our clients approached us in 2016 to create a spacious holiday home for them, as a bolthole to escape London and with the view to it becoming their permanent home in time to come.

A 90’s chalet bungalow occupied the site.  The existing floor arrangement had living spaces on the ground floor with some bedroom accommodation in the roof space, offering limited windows to the stunning view.  We therefore decided to take the roof off and provide an entire new first floor on top of the original stone clad base.  We reconfigured the spaces so that the ground floor comprises bedrooms and a smaller living space while the new first floor volume contained open living spaces, kitchen and a master bedroom to take full advantage of the stunning view of Studland Bay.
